Because ReSteel exists to get more existing steel back into production.
Every day, usable steel sits on company stock. It may be leftover plate, a half bar of specialty steel, a pipe lot, or material that has simply been stored too long.
The steel is not necessarily faulty. It just needs a new buyer.

ReSteel started from a simple observation: large volumes of usable steel sit on company stock. The materials may be fully usable, but if nobody else knows they exist, they risk sitting unused or ending as scrap.

The network
In the classic steel market the overview sits with the wholesaler. The customer buys what is in stock — and pays for what has to be brought in.
ReSteel turns that around. Here the companies themselves list leftover materials, set the price and trade directly with one another. The market is shared. The surplus stays with those who actually use the steel.
The more companies that list, the stronger the shared warehouse becomes. That is why membership is closed, and why only metalworking companies take part: so the network is owned by the people it was built for.
When customers own the market, leftover steel becomes a resource — not a leftover problem.
