1. Data controller

ReSteel ApS, CVR no. 46704320, is the data controller for the processing of your personal data.

2. What data do we collect

3. Purpose

We process data in order to run the marketplace, facilitate trade between members and administer memberships.

4. Newsletter and marketing

We only send newsletters and other marketing material if you have actively given your consent. When you sign up we ask for your name, so that we can write to you personally and know who gave the consent. Your sign-up is confirmed with a link in an email, and we store the time, the IP address and the consent wording you agreed to as documentation. Every newsletter contains an unsubscribe link, and you can also unsubscribe under My profile. Operational messages about your account, your listings and your trades are not marketing and are sent regardless of your consent.

5. Companies we contact ourselves

We record companies we would like to work with, including before they have become members. We store the company name, address and industry from the CVR register together with the name, work email and work phone number of a contact person, and we note what has been agreed along the way. The basis is our legitimate interest in being able to contact potential business partners in a business capacity, cf. Article 6(1)(f) of the General Data Protection Regulation.

We do not send marketing by email to companies that have not given their consent. If a company is marketing-protected in the CVR register, we send no marketing at all. You can always ask us to delete the information or to stop contacting you by writing to support@resteel.dk, and the information will then be removed.

6. Statistics and cookies

We use necessary cookies to keep you logged in. They cannot be opted out of, because the site cannot work without them, and they do not require consent.

In addition, we measure visits with Google Analytics 4 to see which pages are used and where visitors come from. This happens only if you actively say yes in the banner shown on your first visit. If you say no, the Google script is not loaded at all and no statistics cookies are set. You can always change your choice via Cookies and statistics at the bottom of the page. We remember your choice for up to a year, after which we ask again.

Regardless of your answer, we keep a simple visit statistic on our own server. We record which page was shown, when, what type of device you used, and which website you may have arrived from. Your IP address is used to look up country and city and to create an identifier, so that two page views from the same browser can be counted as one visit — but the IP address is never stored. The identifier changes every day, so you cannot be recognised from one day to the next. No cookie is set and nothing is read from your browser, which is why the measurement does not require consent. The processing is based on a balancing of interests, as we have a legitimate interest in knowing how the marketplace is used. The figures never leave our server, and individual page views are deleted after 14 months, after which only monthly totals are kept.

If you are logged in as a member, we also keep an activity log of which marketplace pages your user has opened, and when. The log contains only the time, user, company and page address — neither IP address, location nor device. It can only be seen by ReSteel administrators, never by other members, and is used for support and to understand how the marketplace is used. The processing is based on a balancing of interests, and the entries are deleted after 14 months, just like the visit statistics.

In the same way, we keep an action log of what your user does on the marketplace: that a listing was created, edited or deleted, that the price was changed, that an enquiry or a purchase request was sent, that a trade was approved or rated, and that the profile, users or search agents were changed. We store the time, user, company, what the action concerned and a short description — for example the price before and after. We never store the content of your messages in the log, only that one was sent. This log too can only be seen by ReSteel administrators, it is used for support and to be able to document what happened in a trade, and the entries are deleted after 14 months.

If you say yes, Google sets cookies named _ga and _ga_*, which contain a random ID used to recognise your browser between page views. Google processes the information as a data processor on our behalf, and data may be transferred to the USA under the European Commission transfer framework for US companies. Your IP address is truncated by Google before it is stored, and we have switched off advertising purposes, so the information is not used for personalised ads. We do not use cookies for marketing or for tracking across other websites.

7. Your rights

You have the right of access, rectification, erasure and data portability. You can delete your company’s data and leave ReSteel yourself under My profile. If you need help, contact us at support@resteel.dk.

8. Retention

Data is kept for as long as the membership is active and for up to 2 years after termination, unless legislation requires longer retention.

Information about companies we have contacted without it leading to a collaboration is deleted once the contact is no longer relevant, and no later than 2 years after the most recent approach.
